Afrimat CM Western Cape(Pty) LTD has a vacancy for a:

Production Manager

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

Grade 12 (Matric). Degree, Diploma, or National Diploma in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Management, or a related field Valid RSA Driver’s License –Essential Supervisory or Management Development qualification will be advantageous Mine Overseer Certificate or equivalent qualification will be advantageous Minimum 8–10 years' experience in mining, quarrying, or aggregate production operations Minimum 5 years' management experience in a mining, quarrying, or production setting Proven experience in sand mining and processing operations Sound knowledge of mobile plant, processing equipment, and maintenance principles Strong understanding of MHSA, OHSA, and environmental legislation Experience in budgeting, cost control, and production planning Computer literate (MS Office) Functional Competencies – Production Management, Operational Planning, Safety Management, Cost Control, Maintenance Planning, Compliance, Asset Management, Stakeholder Management Behavioural Attributes – Leadership, accountability, decisiveness, results orientation, communication, discipline, problem-solving, adaptability, integrity, teamwork, resilience.

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

Manage daily sand mining and processing operations Ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently Coordinate mining, processing, stockpiling,



and product dispatch activities Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and operational performance Monitor plant and equipment performance to maximize availability and reliability Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize operational downtime Optimise resource utilisation, including labour, equipment, and materials Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and legal requirements Promote a strong safety culture across the operation Ensure compliance with Environmental Management Programme (EMP) requirements Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions where required Prepare and submit production, operational, maintenance, and performance reports Monitor operational budgets and costs Support strategic planning and forecasting activities Maintain accurate operational records and documentation Supervise, train, and mentor quarry personnel Allocate tasks and monitor performance Manage shift rosters, attendance, and discipline Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability
