About The Prospect
In this hands-on role, you will provide project and administrative support to assist in the successful delivery of Council's capital works program. You will support key project activities, provide efficient technical administration and customer service, maintain project systems and governance, and ensure accurate records and documentation are managed in line with Council requirements. Your attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes will be essential to your success.

Your Role Will Involve
Project support from project initiation, planning, procurement and closing phases. Maintain integrated project plans and project reporting.Support the management of project procurement documentation, processes and the associated contract administration of consultants and contractors. Assist with the compilation of project approvals and associated consent conditions.Assist with the preparation of project grant applications.Provide high quality contract and technical administrative support and advice for the Major Projects team.Provide high quality customer support and technical advice in accordance with Council policies and procedures.When required and with supervisor support, liaise with local and state authorities, business representatives, staff, contractors, council committee members, community organisations and members of the public to ensure effective communication with a focus on high level customer service.Assist the Manager Utilities by referring matters to relevant officer/s and monitoring outcomes.Arrange meetings, prepare shell reports, agendas/minutes, and distribute accordingly.Completion of project specific administration tasks such as the preparation of bulk letter box drops and implementation of project specific communication and engagement plans.Monitor and support the management of council resolutions relative to the Utilities Team for staff Council resolutions, CRM’s and Inwards Correspondence.Provide for effective payment of claims from creditors by creating orders and receipting of invoices in accordance with purchasing and policy guidelines.Maintain strict confidentiality on all matters.
What You Bring To This Role
A min of a Certificate of Attainment in Business Administration or equivalent demonstrated experience.2 years plus experience working in a fast paced customer service and administrative environmentIntermediate level experience with the Microsoft suite of applications, including Word, Excel,
Access and Outlook.Experience in local government project delivery or equivalent in another government sectorProject Management and/or governance experienceWorking knowledge of local government functions is desirable.Purchasing and supply procedures knowledge and demonstrated experience
We are offering
Full time permanent position (35 hours per week / 9 day fortnight)Salary and Conditions will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award with an appointment at a salary in the range of $1,403.59 to $1,626.28 per 35 hour week (dependent upon skills and experience), Parking available on site

Location: This position is based at our Depot in Byron Bay; however, Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
