The Town of Claremont is one of twelve councils nationally to achieve a low heat vulnerability rating due to the Town’s green canopy (Where Should all the Trees Go, 2017). Renowned for its lush reserves and leafy streetscapes, the Town prides itself on maintaining its high-quality parks and environments for all to enjoy.

The Town is seeking a full-time and experienced water truck operator to join our passionate Parks Team. This role will be required to water, feed, plant and care for our valued trees and streetscapes.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

- Operating the Town's water truck and performing routine inspections to ensure the truck is in optimal working condition.

- Preservation work on the Town’s parks, gardens and streetscapes.

- Assisting colleagues with tree planting, maintenance and inspections.

- Responding to stakeholder requests in a timely, polite and informative manner.

- Facilitating contractor works, to ensure work is undertaken correctly and safely.

The successful candidate will have prior experience driving an 8-tonne water truck or operating similar tree-related plant or equipment. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge and experience in landscaping and horticulture, with a solid understanding of maintenance techniques for street and park trees. The successful candidate’s core values will mirror the Town’s values of respect, integrity,
