Program and Engagement Officer
Full-Time | 12-Month Contract (with potential for extension, subject to funding)

We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and people-focused Program and Engagement Officer to join our growing team. If you're passionate about building community, creating inclusive experiences and delivering programs that have lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
This is a diverse and rewarding role where no two days are the same.
You'll coordinate and deliver engaging community programs, workshops and events, build strong relationships with participants and community partners, and help shape programs that respond to the needs of Autistic people and their families.
Working collaboratively across the organisation, you'll play an important role in growing our community engagement, strengthening partnerships and ensuring our programs continue to deliver ongoing quality and sustainability of the organisation's initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll:
- Coordinate and deliver inclusive community programs, workshops and activities.
- Build meaningful relationships with Autistic people, families, community organisations and other stakeholders.
- Represent Autism NT at community events, expos and networking opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen and grow our programs and community impact.
- Monitor program outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting while ensuring compliance with organisational and legislative requirements.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about creating positive outcomes for Autistic people and their families.
- An excellent communicator who enjoys building genuine relationships.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable facilitating groups and engaging with diverse communities.
- Confident working independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Committed to neuro-affirming, person-centred and inclusive practice.
You'll also bring:
- Experience delivering community programs, workshops or events.
- Experience building partnerships and engaging with community stakeholders.
- Robust organisational, administration and computer skills.
- Experience preparing reports and monitoring program outcomes.
- A current NT Driver Licence.
- (Or the ability to obtain) an NDIS Worker Screening Check, Ochre Card and National Police Check.
Highly regarded
- Qualifications in Community Services, Disability, Youth Work, Education, Social Work, Recreation or a related field.
- Experience working with Autistic people or within the disability sector.
- Lived experience of autism or disability, applied professionally.
