Rostering Officer - Justice Services (3-Month Contract)

Location: Parkville, Melbourne (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (3 Months)
Hourly Rate: $38-$40 per hour + Super

About the Opportunity

Tradewind Australia is partnering with a leading organisation within the justice sector to recruit an experienced Rostering Officer for an initial three-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive administrator who thrives in a fast-paced operational workplace. Working as part of a collaborative workforce planning team, you will play a key role in ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained across a 24/7 service while balancing operational requirements, employee availability and compliance obligations.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a combination of office-based work in Parkville and work-from-home flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain and update staff rosters to ensure adequate workforce coverage across a 24/7 service.
- Coordinate shift allocations and source suitable coverage for planned and unplanned absences.
- Manage leave requests and employee availability within workforce management systems.
- Liaise with managers and staff regarding roster changes and operational staffing needs.
- Review timesheets and resolve payroll or roster discrepancies.




- Maintain accurate workforce records and prepare roster reports.
- Ensure rostering practices comply with organisational policies, enterprise agreements and legislative requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the workforce planning team as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in rostering, scheduling or workforce planning within a complex or high-volume environment.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience using rostering or workforce management systems (TimeTarget or similar is highly regarded).
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.

Experience within justice, healthcare, emergency services, aged care or other 24/7 operational environments will be highly regarded.
