We are seeking a Senior Lecturer in Creative Arts (Interdisciplinary) to join School of Creative Arts, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice. We are seeking an exceptional interdisciplinary educator to join the School of Creative Arts as a Senior Lecturer. The successful candidate will possess recognised expertise in one of the School’s major disciplinary areas while demonstrating a strong capacity to collaborate across creative boundaries and contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and research initiatives.

A proven track record of research success, evidenced through high-quality outputs and competitive funding success, will be essential. This role offers the opportunity to shape creative curricula, build meaningful industry and community partnerships, and contribute to research that addresses complex cultural, social and technological challenges through creative inquiry. We’re offering this role as a hybrid position as part of QUT’s commitment to embracing the opportunities created by a more virtual and connected world.

What You Need To Succeed

Completion of a doctoral qualification.

Experience in teaching interdisciplinary units plus expertise in one or more of the following major disciplinary areas (Film and Screen, Animation, Visual Arts, Music, Acting, Drama, Creative Writing).

Evidence of effective leadership of curriculum development and design, effective unit-level administration and leading teaching teams at undergraduate level, with a solid teaching profile with demonstrated positive student feedback.

Demonstrated leadership in using contemporary and emerging digital approaches, methods, and tools to develop innovative approaches to learning, curriculum development, research and industry practice.

A strong record of engaged and impactful research in the creative industries; evidenced for instance by publications in relevant high-quality journals; success in winning competitive research funding from key national and international funding bodies; completion of high impact research projects with government, industry, or community partners; consultancy with government, industry, commercial and/ or teams’ professional bodies.

Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team of academic and professional colleagues, and engagement with industry stakeholders to enhance teaching and research performance.
