The Opportunity
This is a growth role.
You will work closely with the GC and other senior members of the legal team on front-end construction projects across Australia.
This is a genuine business partnering role where you will work closely with commercial, bid, project delivery and corporate stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of construction and project documentation including D&C;, GC21, ECI, EPC and other major project agreements.
- Provide strategic legal advice to bid and tender teams on contractual risk allocation, pricing, security, delay, extensions of time, termination, suspension and other key commercial issues.
- Lead post-tender negotiations with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Advise senior commercial stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle on construction, commercial and contractual matters.
The Successful Candidate
- At least 7 years' post-qualification front-end construction experience. You will have trained in a leading construction team and currently sit either in-house or in private practice.
- Experience negotiating complex construction contracts and advising on commercial risk allocation.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- A commercial, pragmatic approach with the confidence to work directly with senior business leaders.
