Senior Mental Health Clinician Recovery

Stream (OT3, SW3, P3, RPN4)) – Part Time - Ongoing – 0.9EFT Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About Mental Health Division: Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern. Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles. We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.

To be successful in this role you will have the ability to: Deliver evidenced basedassessments andin the person’s own community.

Work as a key clinician with a reduced caseload of complex consumers and their families/cares to promote mental health and wellbeing. Provide professional supervision and support to occupational therapy staff and students.

Your Contribution: Experiencedin the use ofevidence basedinterventions tosupportindividual’sprocess of recovery. Ateam player who is eager to learn from and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team. Experiencedin the assessment,



diagnosis and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability.

Capacity to undertake alcohol and other drug screening, assessment, treatment planning, brief interventions with clients who havea co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Commitment to ongoing professional development for self and for team members.
