The Company aluplast is one of the worlds leading uPVC window and door system providers, specializing in high performance window systems to create more comfortable, safer and quieter homes. Headquartered in Germany, aluplast has extrusion plants in numerous countries around the world and are now establishing themselves as a leader in this growing market segment in Australia. We have recently relocated into a brand new, modern facility and are looking for an experienced production team leader to join our lamination team.
The Role
This role as a Senior Production Operator – Team Lead is suitable for people with a great attitude, an aptitude for production processes and highest quality standards as well as the skills to guide and lead a team of 3 within a up-to-date and supportive environment. In order to offer a wide range of colors to the market, uPVC profiles are wrapped with different, innovative foils and surfaces. This is done through a lamination machine which prepares the extrusion before applying the foils through a set of customized rollers.
The roles and responsibilities for this position will include but not be limited to the following:
Working with and guiding a team to set up the production line to run different profiles
Organizing the workflow and required resources
Overseeing the running of profiles through the production line
Guaranteeing highest quality standards
Organize the packaging and storing of profiles as per specific requirements
Enter and or prepare production data for our ERP system
Maintaining the lamination machine in optimal working condition
We are looking for a full-time, permanent team leader to join this focused and skilled team. Full training, ‘from the ground up’,
will be provided by an experienced, international team.
Working hours are depending on shift either 5am to 1pm, Monday to Friday, or 1pm to 9pm or night shift from 9pm to 5am, Monday to Friday. On rare occasions Saturdays may be required to work in accordance with Victorian working laws and awards.
This will be a diverse role and an opportunity to develop unique and specialized skills in the Australian market, where UPVC profile lamination is just in its infancy but growing rapidly.
The Person
Laminating uPVC window and door profiles requires great attention to detail and the ability to focus and care about the high-quality output.
Skills or experience leading a team in painting, timber laminating, gluing, aluminum profile wrapping or the production of kitchen and other type of cabinetry could all be useful experiences to apply yourself to this role.
In addition, to be successful for this position, you must possess:
Have at least 3 years' experience managing production on semi-automated PVC lamination machine
Have excellent people leading skills and at least 3 years' experience in leading small to medium-size teams
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills A keen eye for detail and quality A drive to achieve all production goals
