Your new company An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Project Accountant to join a well-established and growing facilities organisation. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will play a crucial part in supporting a project-based business unit by delivering financial insights, commercial support, and accurate project reporting. Working closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders, you will provide financial oversight across a diverse portfolio of projects while contributing to process improvements and business performance initiatives.
Your new role - Maintain and update Work in Progress (WIP) reporting across a portfolio of projects
- Prepare monthly client invoicing, revenue recognition schedules, accruals, and supporting documentation
- Support Percentage of Completion (PoC) calculations and project revenue reporting
- Prepare reconciliations and ensure the integrity of the general ledger
- Assist with month-end close activities, including financial reporting, variance analysis, and cash flow monitoring
- Support internal and external audit requirements through the preparation of accurate financial information
- Partner with Project Managers to provide guidance on budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and project performance
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency
- Deliver financial analysis and ad hoc support to senior finance leadership What you'll need to succeed - CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion)
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Project Accountant or Senior Project Accountant position
- Strong experience working with Percentage of Completion (PoC) accounting methodologies
- Sound understanding of IFRS 15 and revenue recognition principles
- Broad accounting knowledge with strong technical accounting capability
- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency across Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- The ability to build effective relationships with both finance and operational stakeholders
