MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT TEAM MEMBER (Full Time)

Fremantle Sailing Club is looking for an experienced, and highly motivated person to join our Harbour Operations team.

The Maintenance Assistant supports the Marina Maintenance Officer in the upkeep, repair, presentation, and operational readiness of marina infrastructure, clubhouse facilities, grounds, and associated assets.

This is a hands-on role involving the daily performance of routine maintenance tasks, inspections, repairs, grounds maintenance, and operational activities throughout the marina and club facilities. The Maintenance Assistant assists in ensuring marina assets remain safe, functional, clean, and well-presented while contributing to a positive experience for members, tenants, contractors, and visitors.

This is a permanent full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist with the maintenance and repair of:

· Floating docks

· Jetties

· Piers

· Finger extensions

· Gangways

· Piles and berthing infrastructure

· Marina services and associated assets

· Perform routine inspections of marina infrastructure and report defects.

· Assist with installation, repair, and replacement of marina components as directed by the Marina Maintenance Officer

· Maintain cleanliness and presentation of marina berths and common areas.

Facilities Maintenance





· Assist with routine and reactive maintenance of clubhouse buildings and facilities.

· Undertake general maintenance tasks including:

· Painting

· Basic carpentry

· Minor plumbing repairs

· General building repairs

· Mechanical maintenance assistance

· Assist with set-up and maintenance of club facilities for events and operational requirements

· Support ongoing building maintenance programs

Grounds Maintenance

· Maintain grounds, pathways, fencing, signage, and public areas

· Operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively

· Ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation

Asset Management Support

· Assist the Marina Maintenance Officer in completing scheduled preventative maintenance activities.

· Update maintenance records and work orders as directed

· Use MYBUILDINGS and other maintenance systems to record completed tasks where required.

· Report defects, hazards, and maintenance requirements promptly

Daily Operations

· Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities.

· Respond to maintenance requests and operational issues as directed.

· Maintain workshop areas, storage facilities, tools,



and equipment in a safe and organised condition

· Assist in the delivery of maintenance projects and improvement works

Safety and Compliance, Environmental responsibilities combined with excellent customer service as you need to interact professionally with club members, tenants, contractors and visitors.

Essential Requirements:

· Experience in general maintenance, building trades, construction, landscaping, or similar hands-on work environments

· Knowledge of Building maintenance

· Hand and power tools

· Painting

· Carpentry

· General repairs

· Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a maintenance team.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Basic computer literacy

· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Licences and Qualifications

· Current Australian Driver's Licence

· Construction Induction (White Card) or willingness to obtain

· Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
