Corrosion Engineer (Cathodic Protection) Responsibilities Include:

- Design cathodic protection (CP) systems for pipelines, tanks, marine structures, reinforced concrete, and other buried or immersed assets.

- Perform cathodic protection surveys, inspections, testing, and condition assessments in accordance with relevant standards.

- Analyse field data and prepare technical reports, recommendations, and engineering documentation.

- Develop CP designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, and scopes of work.

- Commission, troubleshoot, and optimise impressed current and sacrificial anode CP systems.

- Provide technical advice and engineering support to clients and project teams.

- Manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.

- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver practical engineering solutions.

- Conduct site visits and travel to client locations throughout Australia as required.





- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, industry best practice, and client specifications.

- Contribute to the development of innovative corrosion engineering technologies, software, and business improvements.

- Conduct field audits, pipeline surveys (DCVG/CIPS), routine testing, installation, routine maintenance, troubleshooting and reporting on cathodic protection systems for a variety of structures.

- Commission cathodic protection systems.

Qualifications (Preferred)

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical Engineer or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

- Electrical Trade with 10 years industrial experience.

- AMPP Cathodic Protection (level 1-4).

- Chartered Engineering status with Engineers Australia or recognised body.

- White Card

- Minimum 5 years Cathodic Protection technical field experience with qualifications from NACE or ACA (CP Technician or Technologist preferred).

Requirements

- Familiarity with project design and execution, including site stakeholder engagement and shutdown integration.

- Interest in corrosion mechanisms.

- Effective communicator with strong technical writing and reporting skills

- Previous exposure to oil & gas, pipelines, marine and similar assets and infrastructure.

- Knowledge of the procedures, skills and technology used for sacrificial anode and impressed current cathodic protection systems on a wide range of buried or immersed metallic structures.

- Computer and software skills, including Microsoft Office.

- Willingness to travel to complete site work where required.

- Drivers Licence.

- Ability to pass a medical examination and clear security checks (National Police Clearance).
