Gold Coast Community Lifestyles (GCCL) is seeking passionate and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our dedicated and values-driven team. We are looking for Support Workers with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the disability sector who are committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support and making a genuine difference in the lives of both adults and children.

About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker with GCCL, you will provide individualised support across in-home and community settings, assisting participants to work towards their NDIS goals and increase their independence.
Your role may include:
- Supporting participants with daily living activities and developing independence within their home environment
- Assisting with household tasks, meal preparation, personal routines, and skill development
- Supporting participants to access the community, attend appointments, participate in social activities, and pursue personal interests
- Encouraging choice, control, and decision-making in everyday life
- Building genuine and respectful relationships with participants and their support networks
- Supporting participants with complex care requirements and health-related needs
- Following individual support plans,
risk assessments, health care plans, and participant preferences
- Working collaboratively with families, support coordinators, allied health professionals, and the wider support team
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Disability Support Worker
- Ability to provide person-centred support that promotes dignity, choice, independence, and inclusion
- Understanding of professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical support practices
- Ability to follow individualised support plans, risk assessments, and participant goals
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build respectful relationships
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Reliable vehicle with full comprehensive insurance
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience supporting people with complex physical, intellectual, neurological, or psychosocial disabilities
- Experience with manual handling, including hoisting, transfers, and mobility support
- Experience supporting people with epilepsy, including seizure monitoring and following seizure management plans
- Experience with PEG feeding and enteral nutrition support
- Experience with medication administration and supporting health-related routines
- Experience implementing positive behaviour support strategies
- Experience working alongside allied health professionals and implementing clinical recommendations
- Relevant Certificate III or higher qualification in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or a related field
- Experience supporting participants to build independence, develop skills, and strengthen community connections
