Systems Engineer (NV1)Location: Canberra or Melbourne12-month initial contract with extension optionsNV1 requirementStrong experience with Engineering Management Systems, Defence Enterprise Resource Planning, Advisory & Configuration Management
About you:Minimum 7 years' Defence or Defence industry experience in Systems Engineering.Experience supporting Defence Capability Acquisition projects during the delivery and acquisition phase.Strong understanding of the One Defence Capability System (ODCS) and acquisition processes.Demonstrated experience reviewing contractor engineering deliverables and technical data.Experience in engineering assurance, certification, compliance, and acceptance activities.Experience participating in engineering reviews and governance forums.Experience with configuration management and engineering change management processes.Knowledge of Defence engineering policies, standards, and governance frameworks.Ability to work under limited direction and deliver complex engineering outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct engineering planning for emergent bodies of work, in collaboration with project stakeholders.Conduct systems engineering activities supporting delivery of capability, including system reviews and governance forums, in accordance with assigned engineering authorities.Review and assess contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.Apply Defence engineering policies, procedures, and governance frameworks, including the Engineering Management System (EMS).Monitor technical risks, issues, assumptions,



and dependencies throughout delivery activities.Monitor Systems engineering processes and provide recommendations to support continuous improvement.Support management of technical aspects of contract execution, including update of relevant contracts, in collaboration with project stakeholders.Engage effectively with Defence stakeholders, industry partners, Technical Authorities, regulators, and commercial teams.Provide qualified engineering advice to support informed decision-making across the program.
