MacGregor Black is partnering with a well-established Australian fashion business to find their next Senior Womenswear Designer . This is a fantastic chance for an experienced designer to lead the creative direction of the Womenswear Apparel and Swim categories, working closely with a collaborative design, sales and marketing team to bring commercially strong, on-brand product to life each season.

You'll take full ownership of the Womenswear and Swim design process — from initial concept and trend research through to final collection delivery — ensuring every piece meets a high creative and commercial standard. You'll need strong technical skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the flexibility to juggle multiple categories and deadlines at once.

Key Responsibilities:

- Keep a finger on the pulse of global fashion, colour and fabric trends, translating them into product the customer will love
- Take the lead on Womenswear Apparel and Swim design across a range of product categories
- Pull together seasonal storytelling — prints, palettes and overall trend direction
- Bring concepts to life through CADs, colourways and presentation boards in Illustrator and Photoshop
- Steer the product development journey from tech pack to final fit session
- Team up with the Direct-to-Consumer function to shape product with genuine commercial appeal
- Choose fabrics,



trims and finishes that balance quality with target pricing
- Build and manage offshore supplier partnerships, keeping projects on schedule
- Liaise closely with Sales and Marketing to make sure every brief lands as intended
- Stay on top of documentation — critical path, development records and seasonal tracking
- Keep ranges fresh and relevant through regular trend and market research
- Bring seasonal collections to life at internal range reviews

What We're Looking For:

- A minimum of 3 years in a comparable design role
- Formal training in Fashion Design (degree or diploma)
- Creative flair balanced with sound commercial judgement
- A track record of taking product from first sketch to finished garment
- Confident technical knowledge across fit, construction and fabrication
- An upbeat, solutions-driven approach to problem solving
- Comfort operating in a fast-changing, deadline-driven environment
- A genuine willingness to guide and develop junior designers
- The ability to take direction from the Head of Womenswear Design while still voicing your own creative ideas
- Strong, respectful communication across different teams and functions
- A dependable approach — you follow through on what you commit to
- Advanced Illustrator and Photoshop skills, with solid Excel capability
- Hands-on experience coordinating offshore development and timelines
- A real passion for fashion and streetwear culture
- A sharp eye for detail paired with strong organisational skills
- A collaborative mindset that values other people's input
