About the role

BP Lawnton is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Service Station - Cooks & Kitchen Hands to join our team in Lawnton, QLD 4501. This position plays a vital role in delivering high-quality food preparation and kitchen operations at our service station. You will be part of a fast-paced environment where efficiency, food safety, and customer satisfaction are paramount.

Your work will directly impact the customer experience and help maintain our reputation for quality food service in the hospitality sector.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and serving breakfast items, lunch options, and fresh sandwiches according to established recipes and quality standards
- Barista experience preferred but not mandatory
- Operating kitchen equipment safely and maintaining it in good working condition
- Following food safety and hygiene protocols at all times to comply with health regulations
- Assisting with food portioning, plating, and presentation for service
- Managing inventory of ingredients and reporting stock levels to supervisors
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils
- Supporting team members during peak service times to ensure efficiency
- Following standard operating procedures and contributing to a well-organised kitchen environment
- Responding promptly to service requests and maintaining attention to detail in all tasks

What we're looking for

- Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment, preferably in a service station, café, or fast-casual dining setting
- A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously




- Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift items of moderate weight
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills with a positive attitude
- Reliability and punctuality with a willingness to work scheduled full-time hours
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills to follow recipes and written instructions
- A commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
- Relevant food handling or hospitality certification (preferred but not essential – we can provide training)
