The Role
Reporting to the General Manager - Iron Ore, you will lead operations at one of Dyno Nobel's Iron Ore sites, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of services to our customer. As the principal leader on site, you'll be accountable for safety, operational performance, customer engagement and the development of your team.
You'll be responsible for driving operational performance, leading and developing site teams, managing customer relationships and delivering continuous improvement initiatives that support both site success and broader business objectives. You'll provide leadership, coaching and support to supervisors and frontline teams while fostering a high-performing, collaborative and safety-focused culture.
You'll oversee all aspects of site operations including safety, people leadership, rostering, recruitment, training, compliance, equipment utilisation and cost management. Acting as the primary operational contact for the customer, you'll build strong partnerships and ensure safe, reliable and efficient service delivery
What you’ll bring To be successful in this role you will be a collaborative leader having the capability to impact and influence, whilst mentoring and coaching to ensure each member and site is working at their full potential. You will also have;
- Proven leadership experience within mining, explosives, drill and blast or a similar operational setting
- Strong knowledge of safety systems, HSEQ requirements and regulatory compliance
- Experience leading teams, developing people and driving performance outcomes
- Strong stakeholder management and customer relationship skills
- Commercial acumen with experience managing operational costs and contract requirements
- Experience in bulk explosive delivery and on-bench blasting operations
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to lead in a dynamic environment while maintaining a strong safety-first culture
- Knowledge of drill and blast methodologies highly regarded
- Dangerous Goods Security Card, HR Licence, DGDL are highly regarded
