Clinical Trials Coordinator

Registered Nurse preferred — experienced Clinical Trial Coordinators welcome to apply

Full-time | Gold Coast, QLD | Start date: 1 October 2026

3+ years' clinical trials / research coordination experience required

An exciting opportunity to be part of something very special — helping build a new clinical trials unit from the ground up.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Clinical Trials Coordinator to join a dedicated private clinical trials business based on the Gold Coast, starting 1 October 2026. This full-time role suits a coordinator with 3+ years in clinical trials, research nursing, or clinical research coordination, who is highly organised, clinically confident, and motivated by delivering high-quality research in a well-resourced, investigator-led environment. Registered Nurse (AHPRA) applicants are preferred; experienced non-nurse Clinical Trials Coordinators with a strong trial background are also encouraged to apply.

This is a genuinely hands-on, patient-facing role — you'll be directly delivering trials day to day as part of a growing team. Our team currently runs at 3.5 FTE across an expanding portfolio, and we are on track for 12+ active studies (Phase I–III) by the end of 2026. While our roots are in renal medicine, we are actively expanding into new therapeutic areas beyond renal, and welcome clinical trial experience from any medical specialty. As the business grows and expands, opportunities for growth will open up alongside it — you'll be joining at a genuinely exciting, high-momentum stage.

A Unique Clinical Trials Environment

You will work alongside 7 consultant nephrologists acting as Principal Investigators (PI) and Sub-Investigators (Sub-I) within a stand-alone private clinical trials business, separate from but fuelled by clinical practice.

As the largest private renal clinical trials operation on the Gold Coast, this model provides exceptional depth of investigator support.

With multiple experienced investigators available across studies, trial delivery is not reliant on a single clinician or small team, creating a sustainable, high-quality research environment for research nurses and coordinators.

About the Role

You will combine clinical trial coordination (and, if you're an RN, clinical nursing expertise) to support the safe, hands-on delivery of clinical trials — currently centred on renal medicine and expanding into other therapeutic areas — in accordance with ICH-GCP, protocol requirements, and regulatory standards, playing a key role in patient-facing trial activities and study coordination.

• Coordinate clinical trials from feasibility through to close-out

• Perform clinical trial nursing/coordination activities including patient assessments, education, and monitoring

• Support patient screening, recruitment, consent, and enrolment

• Administer or coordinate trial-related procedures and therapies as per protocol (training provided)

• Manage investigator site files and essential documents (ISF)

• Ensure accurate, attributable, legible, contemporaneous, and original (ALCOA) source data

• Prepare trial documentation for investigator review and sign-off

• Liaise with sponsors, CROs, monitors, and external stakeholders

• Facilitate on-site and remote monitoring visits

• Coordinate laboratory samples, kits, processing, and dispatch

• Support ethics submissions, amendments, and regulatory reporting

• Maintain compliance with ICH-GCP and regulatory requirements

About You

• 3+ years' experience in clinical trials, research nursing, or clinical research coordination (essential)

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse preferred, not essential

• Strong working knowledge of ICH-GCP and clinical trial processes

• Excellent organisational and documentation skills, with high attention to detail across multiple studies

• Confident communicator with patients, investigators, sponsors, and CROs

• Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team

• Genuine team fit: thrives on excellent clinical practice, brings energy and excitement to the work, and is comfortable operating in a fast-growth workplace

• Clinical trial experience from any medical specialty is welcome — renal, infusion, chronic disease, and acute care backgrounds are all advantageous

Why Join Us?

• A genuinely rare, ground-floor opportunity — help build a new clinical trials unit from the start, and shape how it grows

• Largest private renal practice and renal clinical trials business on the Gold Coast

• Work with 7 consultant nephrologists acting as PI and Sub-I

• Strong investigator coverage enabling efficient and sustainable trial delivery

• Rapid growth — 12+ active studies (Phase I–III) by end of 2026, with an exciting pipeline of novel therapies expanding beyond renal into new specialties

• As the business grows and expands, so do the opportunities — there's real future growth potential for the right person

• Meaningful work that delivers real impact for patients

Extra Perks

• Weekly pay

• Paid leave between Christmas and New Year when rooms are closed (extra leave)

• Great hours, and you get to live on the beautiful Gold Coast

Start date: 1 October 2026 | Full-time | Applications from candidates with 3+ years' relevant experience only.
