About Boab Metals Limited:
Boab Metals Limited is progressing the development of the Sorby Hills Project, located 50 km northeast of Kununurra in the East Kimberley. Sorby Hills is Australia’s largest undeveloped near-surface lead–silver deposit, supported by granted mining leases, EPA approval, and proximity to established infrastructure, including Wyndham Port only 150 km away.
With permitting and infrastructure already in place, Sorby Hills is uniquely positioned for fast-track production.
Alongside Sorby Hills, Boab is actively exploring its 100%-owned Manbarrum and Eight Mile Creek prospects, strengthening our growth pipeline across the region.
About the position for Sorby Hills Project
As the HR & Recruitment Officer, you will play a key role in supporting Boab Metals' workforce growth during an exciting period of project development and organisational expansion. This is a hands-on, varied role that provides exposure across the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on recruitment, onboarding, employee support, HR administration, and workforce coordination. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will work closely with leaders across the business to ensure vacancies are filled efficiently with high-quality talent while also providing day-to-day HR support to employees and managers. You will be the first point of contact for many HR and recruitment-related matters, making you an important contributor to employee experience and business success.
This position is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience in HR, Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, and who is looking to broaden their skills and develop into a well-rounded HR professional within the resources sector.
No two days will be the same. One day you may be coordinating interviews and preparing employment offers, while the next you could be onboarding new starters, maintaining employee records or assisting with employee engagement activities. You will gain practical experience across both operational HR and recruitment, making this an excellent career-development opportunity.
Key roles and responsibilities but not limited to:
• Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities across corporate and project-based positions.
• Partner closely with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements, position specifications, and critical skills needed for success.
• Prepare engaging job advertisements and manage advertising campaigns across SEEK, LinkedIn and industry-specific platforms.
• Source and attract quality candidates through databases, networks, social media, referrals, and proactive talent mapping activities.
• Conduct resume screening and initial candidate assessments to identify suitable talent.
• Coordinate and schedule interviews, assessment processes, and pre-employment requirements.
• Conduct reference checks, qualification verification, and employment screening activities.
• Prepare employment contracts, offer documentation, and onboarding packs.
• Maintain excellent candidate experience by ensuring timely communication and professional engagement throughout the recruitment process.
• Develop and maintain talent pipelines for future workforce requirements.
• Monitor recruitment metrics and provide reporting on vacancies, time-to-fill, candidate activity, and hiring outcomes.
• Support employer branding initiatives and represent Boab Metals at career fairs, industry events, and networking opportunities when required.
• Maintain confidential employee records in accordance with privacy and record-management requirements.
• Ensure personnel files, licences, certifications, training records, and compliance documentation remain current and accurate.
• Assist with audit preparation and compliance reporting requirements.
• Coordinate employee documentation related to leave, contractor engagement, and workforce compliance.
• Support payroll administration by ensuring employee data and employment changes are submitted accurately and on time.
• Assist with mobilisation and workforce administration requirements where applicable.
• Contribute to the development of HR procedures, templates, and process improvements to drive efficiency and consistency across the business.
Skills and Experience:
• 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources, Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, or a similar role.
• Certificate IV or tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related discipline.
• Experience within resources, construction, engineering, or project-based environments will be highly regarded.
• A genuine passion for people, recruitment, and employee development.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong administrative capabilities.
• Professional, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
• Sound Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Certificate IV or tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related discipline.
• Exposure to recruitment systems or HRIS platforms.
