ABC Blinds & Awnings have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Accountant to join the team based at our Wangara head office.

About the role

As a Graduate Accountant, you will undertake meaningful work that will allow you to apply the theoretical knowledge gained through your studies in a real-world commercial environment.

As an integral member of the finance and administration team, you will work alongside qualified accounting professionals who will support your development as you transition from university into full-time employment.

Reporting to and guided by a CPA qualified Accountant you will learn a wide variety of accounting and finance tasks to enable you to grow your skills, knowledge and understanding.

You will be responsible for assisting with a wide variety of transactional processing, journal preparation and reporting functions including assisting both the Accountant and Financial Controller with producing timely and accurate monthly management reports, financial statements and board reports.

In addition the role supports other office functions including Accounts Payable and Payroll.

Regular duties would include;

- Bank reconciliations

- Balance sheet reconciliations

- Assist with BAS and Payroll Tax preparation

- Intercompany and foreign currency transactions

- International payments and costings

- Inventory transaction processing, reconciliation, stocktaking and reporting

- Assist with maintenance of the ERP system (SAP Business One)





- Asset register maintenance

- Sales analysis and reporting

- Backup and support to other functions including Payroll and Accounts Payable.

About you

To be considered for this role, you will need to have completed (or be close to finishing) a recognised degree from an Australian tertiary institution.

No prior experience is necessary as training and mentorship will be provided however applicants with 1-2 years prior experience may also apply if you are looking to broaden your commercial skills.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

- Willingness to learn and carry out a wide variety of tasks

- Effective written and verbal communication skills

- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- A methodical and organised approach to work with attention to detail

- Sound computer skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
