Gymnastics & Circus Coach — Grow Into Our Next Head Coach (Gold Coast)

Location: Molendinar, Gold Coast QLD

Employment Type: Casual / Part-time (with a clear pathway to more hours, higher pay, and leadership opportunities)

Pay: $30–$40+ per hour (depending on experience and qualifications, with regular opportunities for advancement)

Availability Required

The successful applicant must be available to work:

- Most weekday afternoons

- Saturday mornings

- During Queensland school holidays (weekday daytime shifts)

ABOUT BIG STAR CIRCUS

Big Star Circus is the Gold Coast's home of circus arts for kids, offering classes in aerial arts, acrobatics, juggling, performance and circus skills.

We're much more than a drop-in gym. We help children build confidence, resilience, friendships and life skills in a supportive, inclusive environment.

As our studio continues to grow, we're looking for someone who wants a career, not just another coaching job. We'll invest in your training and help you develop into one of our future Head Coaches.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You may already be coaching in:

- Gymnastics

- Cheerleading

- Acrobatics

- Dance

- Parkour

- Physical Education

You already understand movement, body awareness, safe coaching practices and how to engage children.

No circus experience? That's okay.

We'll teach you aerial silks, lyra, juggling, circus performance and everything else you need.

What we can't teach is the right attitude.

We're looking for someone who is:

- Passionate about working with children

- Patient, reliable and organised

- A confident communicator with both kids and parents

- Positive, energetic and encouraging

- Eager to learn and build a long-term career

You'll be a great fit if you genuinely care about helping children grow.





This role isn't suited to someone simply looking for casual work between performances—we're looking for a coach who wants to become part of our team and invest in our students.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Experience coaching children (gymnastics, cheer, dance, acro, sport or similar)

- Working with Children (Blue Card), or willingness to obtain one

- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

- Solid communication and leadership skills

- Reliable transport and punctuality

YOUR ROLE

You'll gradually be trained to become an expert circus coach.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Coaching circus and gymnastics classes for children aged 4–18

- Shadowing our Head Coach before progressing to your own classes

- Learning aerial arts, juggling and circus performance through paid training

- Supporting students through our Star Rewards Program

- Assisting with school holiday workshops and end-of-term showcases

- Helping create a fun, safe and inspiring learning environment
