The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity Join Ngaanyatjarra Council as a FIFO/Residential - Community Services Officer working directly with tenants, families, and community members to support positive tenancy outcomes, healthier living environments, and stronger communities.
In this rewarding and varied role, you will provide tenancy support, basic case management, environmental health activities, and community engagement initiatives. Working alongside internal teams, local councils, Elders, and external service providers, you will help individuals and families access the support they need to maintain safe, healthy, and sustainable homes.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, working collaboratively, and contributing to improved community wellbeing.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will be a community-minded professional with a passion for supporting people and improving community wellbeing.
You will have:
- The ability to work respectfully and effectively within remote Aboriginal communities.
- Strong communication, organisational and time-management skills.
- Experience in community services, tenancy support, environmental health, health promotion, or a related field.
- An understanding of environmental health issues that impact households and community wellbeing.
- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic record management systems.
- A current C Class Driver's Licence and confidence travelling on remote and unsealed roads.

Welcome to Ngaanyatjarra Lands, a vibrant tapestry of culture and community nestled within the vast beauty of the Australian desert. Home to approximately 2000 Yarnangu (Ngaanyatjarra people) across 11 unique communities, our council is dedicated to preserving and celebrating our rich heritage spanning over 10,000 years and 250,000 square kilometres.
Established in 1981, the Ngaanyatjarra Council Group (NCG) represents the interests of the Ngaanyatjarra People across the 11 communities in the Central Desert region of Western Australia. Employing in excess of 450 people, NCG provides a wide range of services, including health, utilities, construction, employment, community development, shops, roadhouses, art centres and land services. It is one of the largest and most successful Indigenous organisations in the country.
