Salute for Service is a veteran-founded Australian not-for-profit charity helping current and ex-serving ADF members build meaningful civilian lives after service. Through our Combat to Career program, we support veterans and their families with employment, transition, and practical wellbeing support.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a General Social Worker who is passionate about helping veterans move toward meaningful employment and greater stability.

You’ll help veterans and their families build confidence, overcome barriers and take practical steps toward meaningful employment through vocational support, case management, and service coordination.

What you’ll be doing:

- Supporting veterans and their families through Salute For Service’s Combat to Career program
- Assisting with resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and job applications
- Conducting mock interviews and interview preparation
- Helping clients identify employment goals and practical next steps
- Coordinating referrals and linking clients with community, health, education and employment services
- Providing case management and service coordination
- Liaising with employers, training providers, DVA stakeholders, and other support services
- Maintaining clear and professional client notes and documentation

About you

- Qualification in Social Work and current AASW membership




- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent note-taking and documentation skills
- A person-centred approach with clients
- A collaborative, compassionate and practical working style
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team

Desirable

- Experience working with veterans, DVA clients, workplace rehabilitation, employment services, mental health, NDIS or community services
- Understanding of ADF culture and the veteran transition journey
