As our Victorian practice continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Solicitor to join our Melbourne office. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative, supportive team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.

About the Role

This is an excellent prospect for an experienced Workers' Compensation Solicitor who enjoys running their own matters while working within a collaborative and supportive team.

You will manage a varied caseload from commencement through to resolution, providing strategic legal advice, preparing matters for hearing, representing clients throughout the litigation process and delivering exceptional client outcomes.

This role offers genuine autonomy, advocacy opportunities and long-term career development within a respected specialist law firm.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage a portfolio of Victorian Workers' Compensation matters from claim dispute through to resolution with most of the work involving litigation.
- Throughout the claim, provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients throughout their claim.
- Prepare matters for Conciliation Conferences, Judicial Conferences and Hearings.
- Instruct Counsel and appear in the Magistrates' Court and Supreme Court of Victoria.
- Prepare legal correspondence,



submissions, briefs and court documentation.
- Liaise with insurers, medical practitioners, barristers, Commission and Judicial members and other stakeholders.
- Mentor paralegal staff while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

About You To be successful in this role you will possess:

- Admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner with a current and unrestricted Victorian Practising Certificate.
- Strong experience in Victorian Workers' Compensation Law.
- Strong experience preparing matters for the WorkCover division Magistrates' Court and some experience Supreme Court of Victoria is highly regarded.
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage files and litigation autonomously under the supervision of an experienced Solicitor of 20+ years.
