Our Sovereign Cloud Practice focuses on VMware Cloud Foundation and sovereign cloud architectures, supporting customers with secure, compliant and high performing private cloud platforms. We provide deep technical expertise, structured delivery, and defensible architectural outcomes aligned to mission and regulatory requirements.

We are seeking an Architect to lead the design of VMware Cloud Foundation and sovereign cloud solutions. This role translates customer requirements, constraints and operational needs into coherent architectures, ensuring alignment between design intent, implementation approach and customer outcomes. The Architect stays close to delivery, guiding consultants, defending design decisions, identifying risks early and contributing reusable patterns back into the practice.

The role offers a defined growth path into specialist NSX and VKS architecture positions.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead technical discovery, design analysis and architecture development for VCF and sovereign cloud engagements
- Translate business, security, operational, regulatory and technical requirements into practical VCF architecture outcomes
- Own high level and low level designs, decision records, assumptions, risks, constraints and design traceability
- Define implementation guardrails to ensure delivery teams build against approved architecture




- Lead customer workshops, design reviews, governance sessions and architecture walkthroughs
- Identify design risks, delivery risks, dependency gaps, scope concerns and commercial impacts
- Support consultants during implementation, troubleshooting, design clarification and operational handover
- Contribute reusable reference architectures, patterns, standards and lessons learned
- Mentor consultants on design intent, delivery patterns and quality expectations

Education/Certifications Required

- 4+ years hands on VMware platform experience
- Recent experience with VCF 9 or VCF 5.2 / vSphere 8 in production or delivery contexts
- Experience designing or delivering VCF environments end to end

Knowledge/Skills Required

- Strong experience across vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN and NSX
- Understanding of single region and multi region VCF design considerations
- Experience with upgrades and migrations across VCF and vSphere versions
- Experience leading or operating as senior technical resource on private cloud or regulated environment engagements
- Experience running customer discovery, design, validation and governance workshops
- Strong documentation capability including designs, decision records, risks and operational considerations
- Ability to design for constraints not fully covered by reference architectures
- Experience supporting implementation teams through design clarification and troubleshooting




- Experience working in structured delivery environments with scope boundaries, design review and formal acceptance
- Ability to engage directly with senior customer technical stakeholders

Highly Desirable

- Specialist depth in NSX networking or VKS / Kubernetes platform services
- NSX design for VCF including routing, segmentation, multi tenancy, load balancing and multi site considerations
- VKS and Kubernetes platform services including Supervisor, namespaces, RBAC, ingress, registry, certificate and DNS services

Desirable

- Infrastructure automation using PowerCLI, Ansible or Terraform
- vSAN and storage architecture including ESA, storage policies and stretched cluster considerations
- VCF operations and observability including monitoring, health, capacity and alerting
- Enterprise Linux administration sufficient for supporting infrastructure and Kubernetes related services
- Experience mentoring consultants and contributing reusable design patterns
