About the role

Our established and vibrant Buildings Civil team is experiencing robust growth and is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join the team. This role is suitable for a qualified candidate who enjoys working on a diverse range of projects and contributing to the successful delivery of high‑quality civil engineering outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design and delivery of commercial building civil projects. The role includes project design and delivery across a range of projects and sectors—from early concept design and master planning through to detailed design and construction documentation. Successful applicants will have a strong technical design background, along with consulting engineering and project delivery experience. Responsibilities

- Deliver quality engineering and technical activities to achieve successful projects.
- Have experience dealing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies.
- Manage your workload and maintain strong and trusting working relationships with colleagues locally and across the international Stantec team.
- Build and develop your professional profile internally and externally by consistently demonstrating an ability to successfully deliver projects.
- Maintain a high level of service to clients.
- Assist with project management and business development.
- Support Project Engineers in completing projects in terms of program, profitability, technical risk management and overall client satisfaction.
- Execute project design, documentation and contract administration services including regular project reviews.
- Be accurate, diligent and professional.




- Participate in meetings with clients and other consultants.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a similar qualification.
- Ideally 7–10 years of professional experience in the consulting or engineering industry.
- Skills in design software such as 12D and AutoCAD are advantageous but not essential.
- Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.
- Ability to apply technical expertise in a way that balances commercial profitability, QA adherence, risk management, and the morale of others.
- Positive communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technical understanding of the key elements of design and construction associated with civil engineering works.
- Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Initiative and creative problem‑solving.
- Positive, can‑do attitude.
