We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Labourer (Trade Assistant) to join our team at correctional facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with maintenance, construction, labouring, or trade assistant experience who enjoys working in a practical, team-focused environment.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Labourer (Trade Assistant), you will support qualified tradespeople in maintaining and improving correctional facilities to ensure they remain safe, secure, and operational.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist plumbers, carpenters, and maintenance technicians with maintenance, repair, and installation works.
- Carry out general maintenance activities including painting, grounds maintenance, cleaning work areas, and minor repairs.
- Safely handle and maintain tools, equipment, and materials in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures.
- Support preventative and reactive maintenance programs across the facility.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organised work environments while adhering to security and operational requirements.

About You

- To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in maintenance, labouring, trade assistant, construction, facilities maintenance, or a similar environment.
- Woodworking or carpentry experience (highly desirable).
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, including safe use of tools, equipment,



and manual handling techniques.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, work professionally, and adapt to a secure and regulated setting.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople.
