Here's the reality of most paediatric OT roles right now. You're handed a caseload, pointed toward a treatment room, and told to figure it out. Supervision is a scheduled meeting that gets cancelled. Your manager has never administered a BOT-2 in their life. And the "multidisciplinary team" is three clinicians who share a kitchen but never actually discuss cases.

You'll be working within an established paediatric OT team in Wollongong, alongside speech pathologists, psychologists, and behaviour support practitioners who genuinely work together on cases. Not just share a building. You'll be delivering OT assessment and therapy services to children and young people aged 0 to 18, across both NDIS and private funding. Sessions run 30 to 60 minutes in clinic, in homes, and in schools across the local area.

You'll have weekly to fortnightly mentoring with your team leader. Not optional, not "when we get around to it." Structured, consistent, and built into how the team operates. Your development plan is something you'll actually use, not a document that sits in a drawer after probation.

What your day to day looks like:

- Conducting initial and functional assessments using standardised tools (BOT-2, Sensory Profile, Beery VMI, The Print Tool, COPM, The REAL, Handwriting Speed Assessment)
- Writing reports across the full cycle: initial, functional, OT assessment, progress, and discharge
- Planning, prepping, and running therapy sessions in clinic, homes, and schools
- Setting and reviewing goals with families, negotiating recommendations,



and managing challenging behaviour
- Working within a real multidisciplinary team, and liaising externally with other allied health practitioners
- Providing updates to families, guardians, support coordinators, planners, LACs, teachers, paediatricians, and GPs
- Completing weekly self-audits and actively participating in team training and case reviews
- Contributing to continuous improvement across your own caseload and the wider team

What you'll need:

- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Eligible for AHPRA registration
- Knowledge of the NDIS and developmental disabilities
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
- Driver's licence and access to your own car (travel to schools and homes is required)
- Clear Working with Children Check and Police Clearance (within the last 2 years)
- Current First Aid and CPR (Department of Education requirement)
