We are seeking an experienced QA / Safety Officer with a strong background in the steel processing or steel fabrication industry. This is a hands-on role working closely with management and employees to maintain high standards across quality assurance, workplace health and safety, compliance and employee engagement.
This is an essential requirement: previous experience within the steel processing or steel fabrication industry.
About the RolePermanent full-time positionMonday to FridayEarly start available from 6:30amCanning Vale location
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & ComplianceDevelop, implement and maintain Quality Management Systems and workplace procedures.Establish, review and continuously improve quality standards, specifications and processes.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain Quality Accreditation Systems.Investigate, manage and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).Monitor quality performance and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and legislative requirements.
Work Health & SafetyDevelop, implement and review Workplace Health & Safety policies, procedures and programs.Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments.Investigate incidents,
prepare reports and implement corrective and preventative actions.Provide guidance and coaching to employees on safe work practices.Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures and legislative requirements.Promote a positive safety culture throughout the business.
Training & Employee SupportIdentify training needs and coordinate employee training programs.Conduct employee inductions for new starters.Coordinate pre-employment and ongoing employee medical assessments.Foster open communication with employees and support positive employee relations.Assist in driving a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
About YouTo be successful, you will have:Previous QA and/or Safety experience within the steel processing or steel fabrication industry (essential).Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and quality management principles.Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.Experience managing quality systems and NCRs.Strong understanding of quality accreditation and compliance requirements.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Robust organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.A proactive approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
