The position
This newly created role is an exciting opportunity to join Incat Tasmania as a Procurement Officer on a 2-year fixed term contract, supporting one of the worlds most ambitious shipbuilding programs.
The Procurement Officer is responsible for undertaking the end-to-end procurement process for a range of goods and services at Incat. The role involves working closely with the Design and Build teams to ascertain requirements, develop applicable sourcing approach(s), prepare purchase orders and track delivery of goods/services. To succeed, the Procurement Officer will maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders while delivering excellent outcomes through effective supplier management and negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversight of various procurement categorie(s)
and delivery of associated materials in line with the build schedule
- Conduct market engagements to procure routine and novel items as per Incat’s procurement policies and guidelines
- Identify and evaluate potential vendors, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Deliver excellent negotiation outcomes whilst building strong supplier relationships.
- Transacting purchase requisitions of various formats into purchase orders once supply channel and price have been confirmed.
- Clear, routine and accurate reporting to the management team on the status of all sourcing activities and goods' ETAs.
- Identify and capitalise on opportunities to reduce costs and increase the effectiveness of the Procurement function at Incat.
- Accurate and timely maintenance of various documents, registers and programs.
- Support the development and implementation of improvements to Incat procurement policies and practices
