Inclusion Australia is the national representative organisation for people with an intellectual disability and their families. We have been working strategically, with passion and dedication to advocate for greater inclusion of people with an intellectual disability in all levels of Australian society, for 70 years.

- This is a fully remote role, open to you wherever you live in Australia.
- This is a senior leadership role paid at the SCHADS Award Level 8.1 salary.
- The role can be part time at 0.8 FTE 30 hours per week to full time 38 hours per week, across 4 or 5 days.
- You can choose your working hours between 7.30am and 6pm your local time.
- This is a contract role, the end date is to be confirmed.

Purpose of this role

Your role as Program Oversight and Assurance Director is to make sure that Inclusion Australia consistently delivers high-quality, compliant, and impactful projects.

You will oversee our project portfolio, identify trends, strengthen relationships with government and project partners, and lead the continuous improvement of project management, quality systems, and governance.

You will make sure we consistently deliver on our contractual commitments while making the greatest possible impact to the lives of people with an intellectual disability.

What you will do

Strategic Oversight of Inclusion Australia (IA)’s Projects

- Oversee IA’s project portfolio to make sure projects are aligned with organisational strategy, contractual commitments, legislation, and all other desired outcomes

Project Management Framework

- Develop and maintain the IA’s project management framework so that projects are consistent, inclusive, and compliant

Contract Management

- Develop and implement a framework for best practice contract management so that funding agreements and subcontractor arrangements are effectively governed, monitored and delivered

Project and Program Compliance & Assurance





- Oversee compliance of projects and programs with relevant national service and practice standards, legislative requirements, and contractual obligations within funding agreements

Quality and Continuous Improvement

- Lead continuous within the project team improvement to strengthen project delivery, governance, compliance and organisational performance

Leadership and Strategic Advice

- Coach and lead senior members of the National Projects team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with IA team members, government, funders, project partners and other key stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and achieve strategic outcome

- Work collaboratively with CEO and IA leaders on organisational strategy, business development, priority initiatives, governance, risk management, and continuous improvement

Who we’re looking for

You have worked:

- For three or more years in a similar role (maybe with a similar organisation)
- In governance, project or contract management, or strategic advisory roles
- Supporting executive leadership through high-quality, authoritative reporting and advice
- Developing governance documentation, frameworks, and specialist reports aligned with relevant policies, standards and statutory obligations
- Successfully managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
- In a peak body or similar community sector organisation.

Ideally, you have:

- Understanding of how governance supports strategic alignment across project portfolios
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with project management software and tools, ideally ClickUp
- Experience working remotely and leading a remote team.

You may also have personal or close experience in working with people with an intellectual disability.

You must have a:

- Police Record Check
- Current employment Working with Children Check (or equivalent in your state or territory).

It would be an advantage (but it is not essential) if you have a university or TAFE qualification in project management, communications, social sciences, or a related field.
