Mechanical Fitter – Marine Engineering
Our client is a national engineering group specialising in the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of marine vessels.
Our client is offering a competitive pay rate of $54 per hour, with 12-hour shifts available Monday to Friday, plus opportunities for overtime and weekend work. This is a great opportunity for candidates seeking consistent, long-term work with excellent earning potential.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out general mechanical maintenance and repairs across a range of engineering disciplines.
- Reconditioning fuel and water pumps.
- Operating power tools and various specialised equipment.
- Operating lathes, milling machines, and other standard workshop machinery.
- Ensuring all relevant information is captured during the removal and dismantling of mechanical plant equipment.
- Following user manuals, technical instructions, and procedures when assembling and dismantling components and machinery.
- Keeping up to date with modern technologies,
equipment, and industry practices.
- Recommending improvements to existing procedures and systems.
You Will Have
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within medium to heavy industry or marine environments.
- A full manual driver’s license.
- An adaptable attitude with a positive, can-do mindset.
- Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
