About the Centre

The Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre (HALC) is one of 4 facilities in Boroondara, and is owned by City of Boroondara and managed proudly by The Y. The facility contains a 750m2 Health Club, 3 program rooms, an outdoor 50m pool, indoor pool, café, sauna, and child care services. HALC is committed to fostering a welcoming and engaging environment for people of all backgrounds, We have an incredibly positive workforce culture, all working towards the common goal of helping our community.

About the role

As a Swim Teacher at Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre you will be developing and delivering lesson plans that promote swimming skill building in school aged children,



combining stroke development with water safety and enhancing the overall confidence and ability of your students.

- Structure and design lessons with appropriate activities that challenge and develop your students swimming and water safety ability
- Recommend students for level progression as appropriate
- Teach and model effective problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills

This is a Casual role with an hourly rate starting at $34.96 + super & Y Perks.

About you

You will be passionate about inspiring and developing water safety and swimming skills in children and young people. Experience in other teaching or coaching roles is a bonus but not necessary. Personal attributes such as patience, respect, and enthusiasm will take you far as a Swim Teacher!
