About Curo Financial Services
Curo Financial Services is a specialist retail life insurance advice practice in North Sydney, operating under our own Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL). We help individuals, families and business owners protect what matters most through tailored life, TPD, trauma and income protection cover. Our North Sydney team works closely with an established offshore support team in the Philippines. Following sustained growth, we're hiring an experienced Insurance Client Services Officer to support our authorised advisers and strengthen the operational backbone of our client servicing.
About the role
This is a hands-on, senior role at the heart of our life insurance operation. Working under our AFSL and under the supervision of an AFSL licence holder, you will support our authorised advisers and clients across the full client-servicing workflow: engaging with clients and discussing factual information about their circumstances and cover, calculating premiums and preparing quotes, setting up payment arrangements, managing applications end-to-end, and coordinating claims through to resolution. This role is not a relevant provider on the Financial Adviser Register and does not provide personal financial advice - all personal advice and recommendations are provided by our authorised advisers.
You will provide factual information and general advice on life insurance products under our AFSL and under the supervision of a licence holder.
Key responsibilities:
- Engage with clients (in person, phone and video) to discuss factual information about their circumstances and identify relevant cover options for the responsible adviser's consideration
- Explain policy features, conditions, exclusions, premiums and benefits under the supervision of an authorised adviser
- Calculate premiums and generate, compare and present in-force and new-business quotes across our panel of insurers
- Confirm and set up premium payment arrangements with clients (annual, monthly, super-funded or externally funded)
- Identify clients due for review and prepare lists of clients and prospects for adviser follow-up
- Complete and lodge insurance applications, managing underwriting requirements through to policy issue
- Coordinate and monitor life, TPD, trauma and income protection claims to resolution
- Liaise with underwriters on pre-assessments, requirement clearance and case finalisation
- Prepare clear, factual insurance summaries and review packs that support our advisers' annual client reviews
- Maintain accurate client and policy records in XPLAN / AdviserLogic and keep current with product, underwriting and regulatory changes
What you'll bring - essential:
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience in the retail life insurance industry
- Strong working knowledge of life, TPD, trauma and income protection products, premium calculation, underwriting and claims
- Experience generating and comparing quotes across insurers (Risk Researcher or equivalent)
- Confident managing applications, requirements and end-to-end case workflow
- Excellent written and spoken English for client-facing communication
- High attention to detail and strong process discipline
- AQF Certificate IV or higher, or 3+ years' relevant industry experience
Highly regarded:
- 5+ years' experience in life insurance operations or advice-practice support
- Experience using XPLAN and/or AdviserLogic
- Progress towards RG146 Tier 2 (Life Insurance) compliance or equivalent insurance industry training
What we offer:
- $80,000-$85,000 base + superannuation, commensurate with experience
- A senior, varied role with genuine ownership of client servicing outcomes
- A stable, supportive small-team environment in a growing specialist firm
- North Sydney office close to Victoria Cross metro
How to apply
Apply with your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant life insurance experience.
