Looking for a stable, hands-on role with a well-established Tasmanian business?
Seafood Traders has been exporting premium wild Tasmanian live abalone around the world since 1987. We're a family-owned business located minutes from Hobart Airport, supplying some of the world's highest-end seafood markets.
We're looking for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing a job properly and wants to be part of a small, close-knit team.
What you'll be doing
- Receiving and handling live abalone
- Preparing export shipments for international customers
- Driving company vehicles to collect product around Tasmania
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment and work areas
- Monitoring stock and assisting with quality control
- General warehouse and processing duties
- Assisting with facility maintenance and improvement projects
About you
You don't need seafood experience—we can teach that.
What we can't teach is attitude.
You'll be someone who:
- Is physically fit and capable of manual work
- Is reliable and turns up every day ready to work
- Has common sense and can work without constant supervision
- Pays attention to detail
- Takes pride in keeping things clean and organised
- Is comfortable working in a routine-based role
- Holds a current driver's licence (manual preferred)
- Has Australian working rights
Mechanical aptitude, farming, fishing, construction, aquaculture or trade experience will be viewed favourably.
What we offer
- A secure, long-term position with an established Tasmanian business
- A supportive small team
- The chance to learn a specialised export industry
Please note: This is not a desk job. The work is physical with occasional early starts or weekend work required to meet export schedules. If you're someone who enjoys keeping busy and takes satisfaction in doing a job well every time, you'll fit in well with our team.
If you enjoy working hard, solving problems and being part of a team that exports premium Tasmanian seafood to the world, we'd love to hear from you.
