Position Overview The Systems Engineer is responsible for applying Systems Engineering principles and practices across the product development lifecycle to support the successful delivery of EOS Space Systems (EOS SS) products and capabilities. Working under the guidance of Technical Leads, the Systems Engineer contributes to requirements development, system design, integration, verification, validation, and sustainment activities. The role requires collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure products are delivered safely, securely, reliably, and in accordance with applicable standards, policies, and customer requirements.
The Systems
Engineer supports the development of engineering artefacts, assists with technical problem solving, and helps maintain the integrity, traceability, and configuration control of system designs throughout the engineering lifecycle.
Primary Duties Specific functions and tasks: Support the Systems Engineering process throughout the product development lifecycle.
Assist with the development, decomposition, management, and verification of system requirements.
Support configuration control activities, including preparation for design reviews and project milestones.
Assist in the development of verification and validation plans, procedures, and associated evidence.
Contribute to requirements gathering, system design, development, integration, verification, deployment, and sustainment activities.
Develop and maintain Systems Engineering documentation and artefacts, including requirements specifications, interface definitions, verification matrices, and design documentation.
Support systems analysis activities including functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface management.
Assist with the development of concept demonstrators, prototype systems, and production solutions in collaboration with hardware, software, mechanical, electrical, and production engineering teams.
Support requirements traceability and configuration management in accordance with company processes and applicable standards.
Contribute to technical investigations, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution activities.
Participate in engineering reviews, workshops, and technical assessments.
Comply with company procedures and contribute to a safe and secure working environment. Strategy and Architecture Assist with the capture, management, and maintenance of EOS SS intellectual property and technical knowledge.
Support the application of emerging technologies, engineering best practice, and creative approaches within EOS SS products and programs.
Apply Systems Engineering methods, tools, and processes to support the delivery of technical and business outcomes.
Contribute to identifying technical risks, opportunities, and improvement initiatives.
Participate in continuous improvement activities that enhance engineering capability, quality, and product performance.
Communicate technical information effectively to engineers, project teams, and stakeholders.
Development And Implementation Of Engineering
Support engineering design, analysis, modelling, and development activities across multiple projects and products.
Apply established engineering processes and problem-solving techniques to develop safe, secure, and reliable solutions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to capture, analyse, and manage system requirements.
Support integration, verification, validation, and test activities throughout the development lifecycle.
Contribute to formal design reviews and technical assessments.
Prepare engineering documentation, reports, analyses, and recommendations to support project decision making.
Assist with the identification and management of technical risks and issues.
Support the development and maintenance of engineering baselines and design records.
Relationships And Engagement
Work collaboratively with engineering teams, project managers, production personnel, and other stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
Support knowledge sharing and contribute positively to team culture and capability development.
Engage effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure engineering activities align with project objectives and schedules.
Communicate technical progress, issues, and recommendations to Senior Systems Engineers, Project Managers,
and Technical Leads.
Build productive working relationships across EOS SS and external suppliers or partners where required. Delivery and Operations Support user acceptance testing, verification activities, and system qualification programs.
Assist with transition of products from development into production and operational use.
Support manufacturing, integration, and supplier engagement activities to ensure engineering and program requirements are achieved.
Contribute to production issue resolution and continuous improvement activities.
Assist in ensuring technical deliverables are completed within schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
People Skills
Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to solve engineering problems.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop technical expertise, and broaden Systems Engineering knowledge.
Contribute positively to team performance and organisational outcomes.
Experience Minimum 3 years experience in a Systems Engineering, Product Engineering, Project Engineering, or related technical role.
Experience working within a structured engineering or product development environment.
Exposure to requirements management, system integration, verification, and validation activities.
Experience applying engineering processes, methods, tools, and documentation practices.
Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
Exposure to the engineering lifecycle including concept development, design, integration, testing, delivery, and sustainment.
Experience working in Defence, Space, Aerospace, Electro-Optics, Telecommunications, Robotics, or other high-technology industries is desirable.
Experience in the Space sector is desirable.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (any specialty, excluding civil).
Exposure to Systems Engineering frameworks, standards, and methodologies
