Classification Level: Casual Classification Level 1 to 3 (Commencement salary will be assessed and based on current vocational and teaching qualifications and experience) About the role: The primary focus of this role is the delivery of embedded literacy, numeracy and digital skills support within vocational training programs through a collaborative co-teaching model. Working alongside vocational teachers, you will help students develop the foundation skills required to successfully participate in their studies, training, employment and lifelong learning. Through co-teaching within vocational programs, classroom-based support and the development of contextualised learning resources, you will assist learners to strengthen their literacy, numeracy, digital skills, study skills and independent learning skills.

You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices, learning resources and support strategies across William Angliss Institute's vocational programs. Depending on organisational requirements, this position may also include learner advisory responsibilities across vocational and higher education programs. In this capacity, you will provide guidance to students and collaborate with educators to identify and address learning needs, support students to develop effective learning strategies and study skills, and design and deliver workshops to support student success.

As a casual member of the teaching team, you will be engaged as required to support program delivery. Teaching and learner support activities may be scheduled during weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Key Selection Criteria: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE 40116 or equivalent A relevant adult education qualification of at least AQF Level 5 (Diploma) which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology An adult teaching qualification of at least AQF Level 7 (bachelor’s degree)

A minimum of 3 years study at degree level AQF 7 or higher Demonstrated experience supporting literacy and/or numeracy skill development in vocational, adult or secondary education settings. Strong understanding of adult learning principles, learner diversity and inclusive educational practices.

Well-developed communication, interpersonal and digital literacy skills.

Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teaching teams. Ability to use technology and contemporary digital tools to support teaching and learning. Secondary teachers with current VIT registration, particularly those with literacy or mathematics background, are encouraged to apply.
