Learn more about us here.The Opportunity Lead a passionate and developing team that sits at the heart of community planning, community insights, evaluation, community safety, and access and inclusion across Wollongong City Council.As the Coordinator Community Planning & Impact, you will lead a small team responsible for helping Council understand community needs, translate evidence into action, and deliver plans, programs and initiatives that improve outcomes for our diverse communities.Your work will influence how Council plans for the future, responds to emerging community priorities, and embeds community voice into decision-making. You will work closely with community groups, service providers, government agencies, regional partners and stakeholders across Council to build strong partnerships and create meaningful impact.This is a role where you can combine strategic thinking with people leadership. You'll support your team to do their best work while helping shape initiatives that strengthen wellbeing, inclusion, accessibility, safety and resilience across our city.This is a Permanent full time position working 35 hours per week. Salary from $113,911 up to $136,194 per annum plus superannuation. Salary will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications.Under Part 2, Section 6 of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012, this position has been designated as requiring a Paid NSW Working With Children Check.How you'll make a differenceIn this role, you will:Lead, mentor and support a multidisciplinary team delivering community planning, evaluation, community safety, community insights, and access and inclusion initiatives.Use community insights,



research and evidence to inform planning, policy and organisational decision-making.Develop and implement community-focused strategies, plans and frameworks that improve community outcomes.Partner with community members, service providers, government agencies and internal stakeholders to understand community needs and lived experiences.Ensure community voice is embedded in planning, service delivery and policy development.Lead projects, manage resources and budgets, and drive continuous improvement through evaluation and learning.Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture aligned with Council's values.About you You are an experienced people leader who brings together strategic thinking, evidence-based decision making and a genuine commitment to improving community outcomes. You are comfortable working in complex environments, building strong relationships and supporting teams to perform at their best. You:Hold a relevant degree in Social Science, Community Development, Social Policy, Public Policy, Human Services, Planning or a related discipline.Have experience leading and developing teams, including coaching, performance management and building positive team cultures.Bring robust experience in community planning, community development, social policy, engagement or related fields.Use research, evaluation, data and community insights to shape decisions and drive outcomes.Can translate complex information into practical strategies, programs and actions.Build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders and influence effectively across organisations.Have experience delivering community-focused initiatives, programs, services or strategic projects.Understand and apply the principles of access, inclusion, equity and social justice in practice.Are comfortable managing competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.Hold, or are willing to obtain, a Paid NSW Working With Children Check.Bring a commitment to Council's values of Respect, Integrity, OneTeam,
