Howden, a Chart Industries company, is seeking experienced and safety-focused tradespeople to join our team for an upcoming outage project in Newcastle, NSW, running from October to November 2026.
We are looking for reliable, skilled professionals who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced outage environment.
Please note: Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
About You To be successful in one of these roles, you will have:
- Minimum 3–5 years' relevant industry experience
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings
- Excellent attention to detail
- Valuable communication and teamwork skills
- Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Flexibility to work across different crews and tasks
Highly desirable:
- Experience working on Ljungström horizontal shaft air heaters
- Previous outage or power generation industry experience
- Air heater maintenance and overhaul experience
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess
- Current Australian Driver's Licence (C Class)
- White Card (Construction Induction Card)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing
- Relevant trade qualification or certification applicable to the position applied for
- Boilermaker
- Mechanical Fitter
- Rigger
- Other relevant trade certification
- Current Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certifications (completed within the last 12-18 months)
