Are you studying accounting and ready to turn university theory into real client work? This is a career-building trainee role with a growing boutique accounting and advisory firm where you will be trained properly, supported closely and given the chance to develop practical skills across tax, compliance, cloud accounting and business advisory.

What you will learn and do
Training will be provided, with responsibilities increasing as your confidence and capability grow. You will be supported to learn how to:
- Prepare BAS, FBT and income tax returns under supervision
- Assist with financial statements, working papers and compliance files for small business clients
- Support bookkeeping and cloud accounting workflows
- Liaise professionally with external stakeholders including the ATO, Revenue NSW and other government bodies
- Contribute to business advisory and consulting projects
- Help set up jobs, maintain accurate records and support smooth internal workflows
- Build confidence in client service, deadlines and public practice expectations

Hours and study flexibility This is a part-time position designed for an accounting student. We require availability for a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. If your study schedule allows, we would be pleased to offer 4 or 5 days per week.
Candidates should also be available to increase to full time hours during university breaks, so you can accelerate your learning and gain stronger exposure while classes are paused.
About you
You do not need to know everything yet—we are looking for attitude, aptitude and reliability. You will suit this role if you are:
- Currently studying accounting at an Australian university
- Keen to build a long-term career in public practice accounting, tax and advisory
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and in person
- Organised, detail-oriented and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks
- Proactive, hands-on and comfortable asking questions as you learn
- Positive, team-focused and reliable with deadlines
- Experienced in any previous work environment; accounting, admin, customer service or retail experience will be highly regarded
