Responsibilities Conduct preliminary research, review building documentation and insurance claims history, plus identify key risks.
Perform building surveys and onsite inspections in line with CHU Assess standards, relevant qualifications,
and applicable legislation (e.g., NCC, WHS).
Prepare concise, accurate risk assessment reports summarising findings and recommendations for underwriting.
Collaborate with builders, engineers, managers, loss adjusters, and internal underwriting/claims teams to support risk mitigation strategies.
Provide responsive client support, stay updated on industry regulations, and complete additional duties as directed by the CHU Assess Manager.
Qualifications 5+ years of experience working in the insurance industry, ideally focused on Underwriting/ Risk Surveys.
Ability to assess complex risks and understand requirements for storage of dangerous goods, suitable fire protection measures at an occupancy level.
Strong report writing and analytical skills.
Intermediate computer skills across Microsoft suite of programs and industry programs and software.
Excellent communication skills coupled with attention to detail.
Current Full Drivers Licence.
Required Skills Strong technical knowledge of building structures.
WHS practices.
Prior experience in insurance risk or underwriting surveys.
Preferred Skills Experience working closely with loss adjusters and building consultants.
