The chance
If you’re ready to make a real impact, we're on the lookout for passionate OpenRoads Designers to join our Bridges, Aviation and Roads team and help deliver future-ready solutions across Western Australia’s most exciting infrastructure projects.
At the heart of our Transport & Infrastructure Group, you’ll work with cutting-edge technology and a culture of innovation to design smarter, safer, and more sustainable drainage systems. From highways to airports, your work will help connect communities and build resilience across the state.
This role is ideal for an experienced OpenRoads Designer who enjoys being hands-on with detailed civil design and documentation while working closely with engineers, project teams and clients.
You will play a key role in the delivery of complex road and transport infrastructure projects, contributing high-quality OpenRoads digital design models, drawings and associated technical documentation, while supporting the ongoing growth of our transport design capability across WA.
This is a technical,
delivery-focused design role, offering exposure to major projects, technical challenges across concept, detailed and issue for construction stages and a clear pathway for career development.
You Will
Produce detailed road and civil designs using Bentley OpenRoads DesignerDevelop and maintain high-quality design models, drawings and documentationContribute to the delivery of complex transport infrastructure projectsCollaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teamsApply Safety in Design principles and quality assurance processesEnsure compliance with Australian Standards, Main Roads WA and PTA requirements
About You
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or related disciplineDemonstrated experience in road and civil design within a consulting or infrastructure delivery environmentStrong capability in Bentley OpenRoads Designer including knowledge of OpenRoads back‑end processes such as feature definitions, templates, libraries, references, drawing production and model managementKnowledge of Austroads guidelines, Main Roads WA standards and specifications,
with experience of applying these standards to live projectsStrong capability in geometric design with demonstrated expertise in project problem-solving experience.Knowledge and experience of rail drainage standards and specifications is also a plus.High attention to detail and strong collaboration skillsAbility to work autonomously on allocated design packagesKnowledge of ProjectWiseKnowledge of MicroStation and any coding language such as C#, python etc. also a benefit.A positive, team-first attitude with a passion for technical excellence and innovation.Great communication skills and a drive to make a difference.
