Pathology Collector – Dorevitch Pathology
Location & Hours
Multiple roles in Melbourne.
- Oakleigh – Permanent Part‑Time 9 h per week (Mon—Wed 8:30–11:30 AM, AS4308 site – certification required)
- Mount Waverley – Permanent Part‑Time 20 h per week (Mon 12:30–4:30 PM; Tue 9:30–1:30 PM; Thu 12:30–4:30 PM – certification required, reliever position)
- CBD – Casual position

About Us

What you will be doing
As a Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), you will collect blood and other specimen samples from patients, delivering excellent customer service and quality healthcare.
Your key responsibilities
- Collect samples (blood and non‑blood) with care and attention
- Keep meticulous records for every patient and sample
- Deliver documentation within strict turnaround times
- Prepare and package specimens for transport and testing
- Liaise with customers, clinic staff and couriers
What type of person will be successful
Ideal candidates are experienced Pathology Collectors, have a Certificate III in Pathology Collection or a healthcare background, or are registered nurses seeking regular daytime shifts.
No prior pathology experience is required if you bring a customer‑service focus and a healthcare background; fully paid training and mentoring will be provided.
Attributes and skills
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in phlebotomy or a relevant Certificate III in Pathology Collection, or a healthcare background
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with high empathy
- Organised with robust time‑management and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously, sometimes solo in a clinic
- Valid driver’s licence and flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
- Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain one
- Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen or valid visa allowing work
Health and safety requirements
- Vaccine‑preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is required for this role
- Additional vaccinations may be required depending on location
