Blackout Restaurant & Lounge is seeking an experienced Woodfire Pizza Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for a chef who is confident working with a woodfire oven, understands dough preparation, and can maintain quality and consistency during high-volume service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook pizzas in a woodfire oven
- Manage dough preparation including mixing, proofing, and fermentation
- Ensure consistency in quality, taste, and presentation
- Maintain a clean and organised pizza section
- Work efficiently during busy service periods
- Assist with stock control and kitchen prep
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience as a pizza chef (woodfire experience essential)
- Robust understanding of dough handling and fermentation processes
- Experience in a fast-paced restaurant or kitchen environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and well-organised
- Strong attention to detail
