About the Role
As the Workshop Foreman, you will collaborate closely with the Team Leader and Maintenance Supervisor ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, productively and to the required quality standards while maintaining a strong presence within the workshop environment.
This is an opportunity to combine hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities while supporting a specialised tanker fleet within a stable and growing national organisation.
Specifically, you will:
- Act as the first point of technical escalation for workshop personnel.
- Oversee inspection, servicing and repair of mechanical and gas equipment on LPG tankers, semi-trailers and also LPG gas installations at customer sites
- Provide guidance and support in fault finding and complex repairs.
- Support the development of technician capability through coaching and mentoring.
- Assist the team in developing LPG and gas equipment maintenance knowledge.
- Promote high standards of workmanship and professional trade practices.
- Verify maintenance activities are completed to required standards and meet company, regulatory and roadworthiness requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections of completed work.
- Facilitate daily pre-start meetings and workforce communications.

You possess:
- Mechanical trade qualification such as Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Gas Fitter or Mechanical Fitter
- HR Licence preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, coach and build positive working relationships across the team.
- Strong maintenance execution experience.
- Well-developed decision-making skills and a high degree of problem-solving ability.
- Workshop foreman, leading hand or frontline leadership experience.
- Tanker, fleet or transport industry experience highly regarded, as is LPG, gas, process plant or industrial maintenance experience.
- Maintenance management system experience (MEX).
