The Role

We're looking for a hands-on Yard Leading Hand / 2IC to take charge of the day-to-day operation of a busy Maddington yard.

You'll be responsible for coordinating a small team while ensuring equipment is prepared, maintained and dispatched safely and efficiently. The equipment includes trench shoring systems, pumps, propping equipment and other specialised hire gear used across major civil construction projects.

This is a rapid-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day. Success in this role comes from being organised, practical, and able to keep the team productive while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate a small yard crew, allocating daily tasks and priorities
- Operate larger forklifts and assist with oversized lifts
- Load, unload and secure equipment for transport
- Inspect, clean and stage incoming hire equipment
- Maintain a safe, organised and efficient yard environment
- Coordinate closely with workshop and operations teams
- Support workflow planning and ensure jobs are completed on time

About You

- Current LF Forklift Licence (essential)
- Proven experience as a Leading Hand, Yard Supervisor,



Yard Coordinator or 2IC
- Experience operating larger forklifts and handling oversized equipment
- Ability to prioritise and adapt in a busy environment
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- Full Australian working rights

Desirable (not essential)

- HR Licence
- Hiab or Crane Ticket
- Experience within hire, transport, civil construction, earthmoving or heavy equipment industries
