As a Rural Generalist You Will Be Responsible For

- Manage a broad range of acute and chronic presentations and manage referrals to facilitate integrated care across disciplines or teams
- Practice autonomously initiating and managing the care and/or monitoring the ongoing therapy of patients with diseases or disorders within the scope of practice by providing effective pharmacological and other evidence-based interventions
- Provide leadership in preventative health programs and patient education in various settings
- Utilise the best available evidence to guide the treatment of patients in consultation with their general practitioners and specialist medical officers

About You





- Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse / Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with equivalent of three years full-time experience in an advanced nursing role within a rural care environment
- Demonstrated advanced nursing practice in a clinical leadership role in the area of practice in which you intend to practise as a nurse practitioner, within the past five years, complemented by research, education and management
- An ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team and across acute and community settings
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with proven interpersonal and negotiation skills, inclusive of highly developed skills in computer literacy with word processing and database programs
- An ability to provide leadership along with extensive expertise in teaching and education and evidence of participation in research and quality activities
- Evidence of a current Class C drivers licence and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes, including driving long distances within the MLHD
