Due to continued business growth, Elegance Stairs is seeking an experienced and motivated Welder to join its fabrication team.

The successful candidate will have proven welding and metal fabrication experience, the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, and strong attention to detail.

The role requires a commitment to producing high-quality work, maintaining safe work practices, and contributing effectively within a collaborative workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret engineering drawings, fabrication plans and specifications to manufacture custom steel staircases, stringers, balustrades, handrails and associated metal components.
• Measure, mark, cut and prepare steel and stainless steel materials using appropriate fabrication tools and equipment.
• Assemble, fit and align fabricated components, ensuring accurate dimensions and proper alignment prior to welding.
• Perform MIG, TIG and Arc welding to fabricate and repair stair structures, balustrades, handrails and other structural steel components.




• Inspect welded joints, rectify defects and ensure completed work meets quality, safety and project specifications.
• Grind, polish and finish welded surfaces to achieve a high-quality architectural finish.
• Operate welding, cutting and fabrication equipment safely and carry out routine maintenance of tools and machinery.
• Conduct quality inspections of completed products before dispatch or installation to ensure compliance with workshop standards.
• Assist with the trial assembly of fabricated stair and balustrade systems to verify fit and accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and safe work setting by following workplace health and safety procedures at all times.

To be successful in this role, it is essential you have:
• Minimum one year of verifiable relevant work experience supported by a relevant trade qualification
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical plans and fabrication specifications.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG and Stick welding processes, with experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Sound knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding symbols and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to produce high-quality welds while maintaining accuracy and meeting project specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to workplace health and safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
