Position Overview
Robbie Lee Developments Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated full-time Bricklayer to support its ongoing construction projects across New South Wales.
This is a genuine, full-time trade position responsible for constructing and repairing walls, partitions, arches and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks and masonry materials. The successful candidate will interpret building plans, prepare and apply mortar, lay and align bricks and blocks, and cut materials to the required dimensions while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Studying building plans and specifications to determine material requirements, dimensions and installation procedures.
- Measuring and setting out brickwork in accordance with approved plans and project requirements.
- Preparing foundations and applying damp-resistant materials where required.
- Mixing and spreading mortar to form a base and binder for bricks and blocks.
- Laying bricks,
concrete blocks, pre-cut stone and other masonry materials in specified rows, patterns and designs.
- Constructing and repairing walls, partitions, arches, segmental paving and other masonry structures.
- Cutting and shaping bricks and blocks using hand tools, power tools and machinery to fit corners, openings and irregular spaces.
- Checking the vertical and horizontal alignment of brickwork using levels, plumb lines and measuring equipment.
- Removing excess mortar and finishing joints to achieve a neat, durable and professional result.
- Repairing and maintaining damaged brickwork, cement blocks and related structures.
- Erecting and dismantling restricted-height scaffolding where authorised and required.
- Following building specifications, Safe Work Method Statements and Work Health and Safety requirements.
- Coordinating with site supervisors and other tradespeople to complete work safely and within project timeframes.
Essential Criteria
- Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying (or equivalent recognised trade qualification).
- A hardworking and competent individual with at least 2 years' work experience in the bricklaying trade.
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Able and willing to travel to project sites and work rostered shifts.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Works well within a team and follows instructions accurately.
- Willingness to relocate to the Central Coast region.
- Current General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
Desirable Criteria
- Additional experience in asbestos removal and other areas of construction and demolition would be highly regarded.
