Maintenance Fitter - Food Manufacturing

$150,000 + Overtime + Super

A leading food manufacturer is looking to add an experienced Maintenance Fitter or Dual Trader to its afternoon shift engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded tradesperson who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. While dual trade qualifications are highly regarded, the role is best suited to someone who is mechanically biased with strong fault-finding skills and a passion for keeping production running efficiently.

You'll join a well-established maintenance team responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of a up-to-date food manufacturing facility.

The Opportunity
You'll be responsible for maintaining production equipment to maximise uptime and support continuous manufacturing operations, including:

- Preventative and reactive maintenance across food processing and packaging machinery
- Mechanical fault finding and breakdown repairs on high-speed production equipment
- Servicing conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, motors, bearings, chains, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems
- Assisting with machinery upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects
- Supporting electrical fault finding where required (Dual Trade advantageous)




- Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Maintaining a strong focus on food safety, quality, and workplace safety

About You
We're looking for someone who has:

- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Dual Trade (Electrical/Mechanical)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in FMCG, food, beverage, packaging, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience maintaining high-speed production and packaging equipment
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment
- A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative maintenance team
